HUANGHUA STUDIO - BEIJING CHINA

黄花工作室 Yellow flower Studio

Situated on the North East side of Beijing just near the fifth ring road is the Beijing International Art Camp (BIAC).

Established in 2004, BIAC is home to Huanghua Studio.

Huanghua Studio is a fully self contained 90sqm studio with mezzanine living area. Surrounded by artist residences, studios and galleries. The studio is located in a stimulating, lively, comfortable environment, just a short 2 minute walk to Suojia Cun village for all your daily living needs.

This arts and cultural exchange studio is currently available for artists and arts workers wanting to produce, research or display art works. Imagine Gallery, SanYaoBa (318) and Red Gate Residencies are close by where many lively openings and informal functions give opportunity to meet with Chinese and International artists.

Huang Hua Studio is located within easy travelling distance to Beijing Academy of Fine Arts, central Beijing, Red Gate Gallery, the famous 798 Dashanzi districtand Cao Changdi.

Denise has created three installations currently on show at Nova Art Space - Feijiacun Beijing.

The exhibition 'enlightenment' showcases 18 female artists. Denise is the only international representative with 17 Chinese artists. the exhibition continues until 23rd December.

Walter currently is working on the replacement painting for King Lake Anglican Church.

Huanghua Studio continues to be in demand for residencies. Visiting artists in 2009 have been Tony Trembath (Australia), Sun Baijun (China), Torsten Jurell (Sweden) and Freda Watkin (Australia) 2010 spaces are still available. Contact me for further information. Imagine Gallery - Beijing on 8th March hosted Nu Yishu Series IV: Nu Red. The exhibition showcasing five female installation artists coincided with and celebrated International Women's Day. A gallery is dedicated to the show for more information on the event and associated activities. The 2011 Nu Yishu Melbourne exhibition bringing together Chinese and Australian female artists is in process. Keep watching for news.
